WORK EXPERIENCE

Page Vault Inc., Chicago, IL

Founder and CEO, 2013 – Present

Page Vault software enables legal professionals to easily collect and print webpage content (social media, corporate websites, blog posts) in a way that is forensically defensible and admissible in US courts.

  • Grew the company from the ground up, from idea creation, to market testing, to revenue generation. Defined and matured the business model for SaaS recurring revenue in the legal space.
  • Raised over $3.5M of funding over three successful rounds, including VC, corporate and angel investors.
  • Acquired hundreds of paying clients (law firms) through A/B tested marketing channels: SEO & content marketing, cold-calling, paid ads, conference exhibits. Achieved 5x revenue growth from 2015 to 2016.
  • Launched industry-changing software products based on remotely controlled browser technology and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Multiple patents filed on ways to securely collect and display web content.
  • Built a team covering all operational areas: sales, marketing, customer success, product development, product management, and quality control. Grew the team from 1 to 12 people since founding.

Motorola Solutions, Schaumburg, IL

Senior R&D Solutions Manager,2009 – 2012   R&D Solutions Manager, 2006 – 2008

Produced innovative tech solutions to meet critical business needs.  Coordinated between engineering and customer-facing teams to address clients’ largest pain points.

  • Led multiple product development teams to redesign Motorola’s networking solutions for public safety systems, the division’s highest revenue product for state & federal customers. Coordinated between engineering, marketing & sales teams to deliver fault-tolerant solutions for disaster scenario communications. Patents filed for high-reliability multicast delivery across nationwide systems.
  • Managed matrixed team of 10+ senior architects to create new features for WiMAX system releases. Responsible for team requirements creation, feature validation, and customer issue resolution. Successful launch of WiMAX 2.5 and WiMAX 3.0 releases.
  • Led rapid creation of first-gen WiMAX Access Points. Motorola sold its first nationwide WiMAX system to Wateen Telecom (Pakistan), but development teams were behind schedule on Access Points – senior management requested a critical, stop-gap alternative. Coordinated a “tiger-team” of engineering and sales experts to meet complex requirements within aggressive delivery schedules. Achieved successful, on-time deployment of an alternate solution. Promoted to Senior R&D Solutions Manager.
  • Defined product positioning for Motorola’s public safety transport solution. Crafted value propositions emphasizing simplified system configurations and overall performance. Strategy adopted by marketing/sales, enabling a clear differentiation of our product vs. competitors.

 New Product Manager, 2003 – 2005

Roles across the New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle. Gained end-to-end experience from product definition to launch.

  • Managed a Lean Manufacturing team in Nogales, Mexico to devise a “kanban” system to reduce plant inventory. Solution tested across several new product launches, and then adopted company-wide. Digital Six Sigma (DSS) Greenbelt awarded for $300k+ inventory reduction.
  • Product Manager within RFID Incubator (internal startup initiative). Defined products for Motorola’s first RFID-based vehicle tracking solution. Crafted key business cases and marketing requirements.
  • Product Manager for newly developed dual-mode phone, enabling calls over both cellular and Wi-Fi networks. Solicited pre-sales customer feedback and drove requirements up to launch.
  • Devised portions of Motorola’s corporate go-to-market strategy for next-generation IP-based communication solutions. Included competitive environment scans and acquisition analysis. Strategy approved by the C-Suite and deployed company-wide, driving team consolidations and new sector goals.

 Technical Research Lead, Motorola Corporate Research Labs, 1998 – 2003

Led technical research teams to create new capabilities for Motorola’s communication products.

  • Led teams of 5+ software developers & engineers, directing research projects with TCP/IP, multicast, Mobile IP and database technologies. Responsible for multiple tech transfers into launched products.
  • Developed intelligent multimedia distribution schemes, enabling first responders (firefighters, police, federal agents) to receive key information, at the right time, in the best format for their environment. Research enabled transmission of only the most critical broadband video/multimedia feeds to handsets.
  • Created a services-based software architectureto dynamically redirect real-time video/multimedia content in public safety networks based upon context (location of people, triggered events, etc.)
  • Designed augmented reality solutions for Public Safety command and control. Pioneered the first corporate Internet2 Access Grid Node to test delivery of augmented streaming media to handhelds.
